Customer Reviews

Which duvet tog do I need?

Every bedroom is different and as the temperature outside increases or decreases, you will want a duvet tog that keeps you at a comfortable temperature to ensure you get the best night's sleep. We offer low tog duvets, which are ideal for warm weather and higher tog duvets that will keep you warm during chilly winter nights.

When those warm summer nights come around, stay cool with our summer duvet and quilts, ranging from 3 tog to 4.5 tog duvets. During those transitional seasons of spring and autumn, you'll want a duvet tog that is mid-weight. At Soak&Sleep, you can choose from 7.5 tog, 9 tog and 10.5 tog duvets. When those winter winds blow through and the temperature gets cold, our winter duvets will make sure you stay nice and warm when you're snuggled up in bed. Choose from 13.5 tog and 15 tog duvets. If you need a little extra warmth for those cold nights, why not go for our extra warm 18 tog duvets?

How do I choose a duvet filling?

Take the time to choose your perfect duvet for a beautiful night’s sleep by making sure you choose the right duvet filling. From a lofty, fluffy goose down duvet to a cool and soft summer duvet and everything in-between, our duvet and quilt range has something for everyone. There are synthetic fillings that mimic feather & down and are great for allergy sufferers or anyone without a feather-bed budget. Feather & down create lightweight and insulative duvets. Natural fillings are the temperature-regulating heroes of the duvet world; wool works hard at keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter while silk is perfect for anyone prone to overheating. Our range of luxury duvets also includes hypoallergenic feather and down, and eco-friendly duvets filled with recycled feather and down.

Do I need a duvet cover for my new duvet?

We’d recommend you use a duvet cover with any duvet. That’s because a duvet cover can be removed and washed easily, helping avoid the need to wash and dry your duvet which can be a big job. Using a duvet cover will also make your duvet last longer, saving you money in the long run.

How do you know what size duvet to buy?

The right size duvet for you depends on the bed that you are buying the duvet for and your personal preference, although we would recommend you choose a duvet that’s at least 20-30cm longer than your height (or the height of the tallest person in the bed). Many people will buy a duvet that matches their bed size – for example, using a double duvet with a double bed. However, others may prefer to use a large duvet that’s bigger than their bed size, for example, using a king size duvet on a double bed to reduce the risk of the duvet being hogged in the night by one partner! Other people prefer to use two single duvets on a double, king size or super king bed so they each can have their preferred duvet tog without compromise. If you’re unsure of what size duvet to buy, visit our duvet size guide for full breakdown of the dimensions of all the duvets we sell.

PS. Wondering what the biggest duvet size we sell is? It’s the extra-large emperor size duvet, measuring in at a blissful 290cm x 235cm!

What is the difference between a comforter and a duvet?

Comforter is a word used in America, and can be described as a flatter, heavier version of a duvet that is normally filled with synthetic microfibre, wool or down. The filling is sewn into each pocket, so that it doesn’t move internally, creating a quilted style spread. Comforters are designed to be larger than duvets so that they have an overhang on the sides of the bed. Discover more about the differences between comforters and duvets.
