"Which? has rated Soak&Sleep the top duvet brand"
- Find out what makes our Feather Duvets so special...
Feather is nature’s insulator – it traps air and disperses moisture to keep your bed feeling cosy and fresh.
That explains why feathers have always been a popular bedding choice. In 1847 Heal’s sold feathers by the pound (Grey Goose: 1s; Best Irish White Goose: 2s). Fortunately, today we make feather duvets so beautifully that you won’t have to DIY.
The higher the percentage of feather in a duvet, the cheaper, bulkier and heavier it will be. It’s a useful filling but should always be balanced with down. We start our range with Duck Feather & Down, with 85% feather to provide cuddle and bulk. At the top end, even our Supreme Canadian has 10% feather to provide the necessary structure.
Our expert says:“Feathers give structure, insulation and support to feather duvets. Down, from the bird’s breast, is a lighter form – like a dandelion head – which is much softer, and even better at trapping air. Using down and feather in duvets gives them lightness and structure.”
