This makes them perfect for adding a colourful, cosy accent to your sofa, perfect for using as lap blankets if you want some extra warmth. These throws are ideal for covering the seat cushions of smaller two-seater sofas, giving your room a seasonal upgrade. They're also perfect for draping over the back of a sofa for a complementary splash of colour. If you want a throw for a larger sofa, such as a three-seater or a corner sofa, you'll need an extra large throw. Alternatively, you could use two or three regular throws.

They're big enough to cover an entire bed and are most commonly made from wool or acrylic. Lastly, a bedspread is a decorative extra layer designed to fully cover a bed. They're most often used to enhance a bedroom and complement a decorative scheme, but they also have a practical purpose. Bedspreads can be used to sleep under - they're a welcome extra layer of warmth during the winter, and can be paired with a flatsheet to provide a lightweight covering during warmer nights.
