Have you tried the Scandinavian Sleep Method? | Soak&Sleep

What is the Scandinavian Sleep Method?

In short, the Scandinavian Sleep Method is where two people who share a bed, both have their own separate duvets.

How does the Scandinavian Sleep Method work?

Each and every one of us has different requirements when it comes to our sleep needs. For example, some people get hot when they sleep, while others run cold and like to snuggle up, or some lay still throughout the night and others toss and turn. If you’re sharing a bed, it’s likely that you and your partner have different sleeping styles, making it tricky to find one bedding solution to suit you both.

This is where the Scandinavian Sleep Method comes in.

By using a separate duvet, quilt or blanket to your partner, you’re able to create a personalised micro-climate that keeps you at the perfect temperature all night long. You can both choose different duvet togs so neither person overheats, or gets too cold! The Scandinavian Sleep Method also means you’re able to decide on the fill. Choose from natural filled duvets, such as wool, silk, goose feather and down, and duck feather and down - or opt for a synthetic duvet for an allergy-friendly alternative.

Top tip: if you’re have a particular aesthetic preference and would prefer a smooth bed surface, why not style your bed with an elegant bedspread on top of your two duvets when making your bed for the day.

Does the Scandinavian Sleep Method help you sleep better?

Sleeping under your own duvet will lessen the disturbances you feel from your partners movements, the hogging of the duvet or one of you getting up during the night. By reducing these disruptions, many couples may wake up feeling better rested and refreshed.

What are the benefits of using two duvets?

1. Ability to choose your own duvet filling and tog to suit your sleep needs

2. Less disruption from your partner’s movements during the night

3. Both duvets can be a different weight, with heavier duvets helping to promote relaxation
