To help us discover more about how Mindful Chef are encouraging all of us can live healthier lives, we had the great pleasure to hear a little bit more about how it all started… 

1. What was your inspiration to start-up 'Mindful Chef'? 

The idea was born in the summer of 2014 when the founders - Myles, Giles and Rob (all school friends from Devon) - worked on a friends’ fishing boat off the Devon coast. Watching villagers line up to buy the day’s catch, they were inspired by how fresh the food was compared with the food you buy in the supermarket. The founding trio felt that freshness and sustainability, were of equal value to health and nutrition, and with a growing demand for convenience products, Mindful Chef was born.

2. How easy is it to cook up delicious meals that are crafted by Mindful Chef?

All of our meals are super simple to prepare. All the recipes require minimal equipment, have less than 10 ingredients, less than 8 steps and take less than 30 minutes to prepare. 

3. What's your favourite 'Easy For You' meal that you would recommend to our customers?

We love our zingy salmon with heritage tomatoes & mange tout - it only takes 15 minutes to prepare and is perfectly balanced and delicious! 

4. Do you think the time of day when you eat has an impact on how you sleep?

Yes definitely! We like to leave at least 2 hours between eating dinner and going to bed to ensure that your body has time to digest properly. 

5. Finally, what advice would you give to people who are looking to live a 'healthier life' by improving their diet and sleep routines?

Food and sleep are definitely linked - in order to sleep well you should have a varied diet that has a healthy balance of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. The more varied your diet, the more micronutrients like minerals, vitamins and antioxidants you will be able to provide for your body. This will help your body to perform all the functions it needs to while sleep is taking place, and will ultimately help you to wake up feeling fresher and more energised!
