Use a mattress protector on top of your topper. A protector is much easier to clean than a topper and will keep your bed and topper fresh and clean in between washes. We recommend washing your topper a minimum of every 6 months.
Shake your topper out regularly to spread out and plump up the fill. We recommend doing this every week, an easy way to remember is to combine it with your linen change.
Rotate your topper once a week so it wears evenly.
Wash it regularly (once a season is perfect) with a suitable detergent in an appropriately sized washing machine, and dry it thoroughly in a tumble dryer to prevent clumping. We'd recommend you send them off for a professional clean for best results.
Pull back the covers every day allowing your bed to air, letting the fibres breathe and moisture evaporate.
Always use a mattress protector on top of your topper. It's far easier to wash a protector after accidental spills or stains than it is a bulky topper. Washing your protector frequently helps to maintain a clean and fresh topper and buying a second protector allows you to rotate with the weekly wash.
Can you put a mattress topper in the washing machine? Our microfibre, hollowfibre, wool and feather & down toppers can all be machine washed, but we'd recommend you send them off for a professional clean for best results.
You can machine wash the cover of a memory foam topper. However you wash your topper, make sure it's tumble-dried until bone dry to prevent the filling from clumping.
