A rich, absorbent bath mat which stays incredible wash after wash.
OK, so we don't know for sure that the ancient Egyptians bathed with cotton bathmats like these, but one thing's for sure; they'd probably have liked to. Our bath mats are comfy, absorbent and robust. The secret? 900gsm pure Egyptian cotton for the most hard-working bath mat we know.
Features and Facts
Made with 100% certified Egyptian cotton accredited by the Egyptian Cotton Association. Egyptian cotton is grown exclusively in Egypt on the banks of the river Nile. The warm climate and rich soil are perfect for growing the high quality, long staple length cotton fibres we all love in our cotton towels & bathmats. Egyptian Cotton is especially soft, absorbent and durable - all the qualities we look for in a bathmat!
Would you believe that Egyptian Cotton cultivation began in an ornamental garden? It's true! A chap called Jumel spotted the beautiful cotton plants in a Cairo garden, and after looking at it a little more closely, realised that thanks to its long fibres it could be woven into a strong and fine cloth. Before long he began cultivating it along the banks of the Nile. Egypt (and our bedtimes) have never looked back.
Made with a generous 900GSM, this bathmat will soak up water with ease leaving your floors lovely and dry. The pile is dense with twisted loops, anchoring the yarns in to the ground of the bathmat.
We've put these bathmats through their paces to make sure you're getting the very best quality. All our bath mats are tested for longevity with particular focus on washability, colourfastness and durability.

It comes down to personal preference how frequently you wash your bathmat. We recommend every 5-7 days if you use for a daily bath or shower. If you're using it in a busy household then wash it after one or two days' use. Wash at 30°C for best results - modern detergents mean there's no need to go for a higher temperature. It's also kinder to the environment.
You can line dry or tumble dry this bathmat. If you choose to tumble dry then remove it from the dryer before it's completely dry to avoid a dried-out crispy feel. Line drying your bathmat is a greener option, just give it a good shake out before you put it away to fluff up those lovely cotton fibres.
Always use the best detergent for the product you are washing. We'd recommend you use liquid detegent on coloured bathmats and powdered detergent on white bathmats. Never use fabric conditioner when washing bathmats. It coats the fibres and makes them less absorbent and more scratchy over time.
It's not just detergents that can affect your bathmats; some creams, suncream (especially day long formulas), facewashes and even toothpastes contain chemicals that will bleach your bathmats, such as benzoyl peroxide. Make up and bronzers can also stain your bathmats; we'd recommend you avoid using pale coloured bathmats if you're a fake-tan fan. Go easy on the bathroom cleaning products too - lots of cleaning products contain bleach which will mark your bath mat if they come in contact with one another.
