Can you use a super king bed sheet for a king size bed?
A super king size bed measures 180cm x 200cm, compared to 150cm x 200cm for a king size bed. This extra 30cm of width can be useful if you want to use a super king flat sheet as a cover, especially if you or your sleeping partner moves a lot while sleeping. However, if you want to use your super king size sheet as a sleeping surface, the excess material may bunch up and wrinkle, creating an uncomfortable night's sleep. This will be especially true if you are using a super king fitted sheet - it is unlikely to look as neat as if you used a king size fitted sheet. If you are unsure of the correct sheet for your super king bed, we'd recommend you take a look at our blog, 5 things to consider before buying a bed sheet.
What's the difference between king size and super king bedding?
A king size bed measures 150cm x 200cm, while a super king size bed measures 180cm x 200cm. Super king bedding accommodates this extra width with wider sheets and duvet covers. Super king size pillows are wider so they fill the extra width on the mattress, making your superking bed look extra inviting. It's important to buy the correct size bed linen for your bed, duvet and pillows. Buying super king bed sheets when you have a king size bed, could mean the excess fabric gets in the way and makes your bed look untidy. It can also result in an uncomfortable night's sleep as the bed linen will move around more easily. There's one exception though. If you and your sleeping partner find you fight over the duvet, it may be a good idea to size up. So, if you have a king size bed, you could get a super king size duvet and super king size duvet cover. This would give you more duvet to share, resulting in a more harmonious night's sleep.
