Sensuous silk

Spun by silk worms fed entirely on Mulberry leaves, this is a truly legendary fabric. Its naturally temperature-regulating properties draw heat away from your skin, helping you sleep cool and wake up fresh for a more rejuvenated feeling in the morning.

Sleep beautifully

Silk isn't just about luxury. As well as its temperature regulating properties, it is naturally hydrophobic which means it doesn't pull moisture away from your skin in the same way as other natural fibres, leaving it naturally hydrated. This makes silk especially good for sleepy heads with dry skin and is the reason it's believed to help prevent wrinkles from forming.

Pure silk

This bed linen is made with a 19 momme silk satin that feels fluid and looks lustrous but is incredibly durable despite its delicate appearance. If well-cared for, you can expect your silk bed linen to last you for many beautiful mornings to come. Silk's naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic properties make it a luxurious choice for allergy sufferers.

Care for quality

This bed linen has gone through some serious testing with a special focus on colour fastness, durability and washability.

Sleep comfortably, sleep beautifully

Supple, lustrous and sensuous to the touch, there simply aren't enough words to describe just how sumptuous this silk bed linen feels. The light coolness of silk is a lifeline in warm summer months and for people who have a tendency to hot flushes or overheating at night.

FAQS

Pure Mulberry Silk Bedding

What are the benefits of sleeping on silk sheets?

Silk bedding has long been associated with luxury, but there are more benefits to sleeping on silk than simply treating yourself to an indulgent night's sleep. Mulberry silk is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial which makes it an excellent choice for allergy sufferers because of the way it repels allergens such as dustmites and mould. unlike other fibres, silk bed sheets help skin and hair retain its natural moisture as you sleep. What's more, because it is so smooth, your hair and skin 'slips' across the surface of your silk sheets, helping minimise tangles and morning sleep wrinkles. Finally, pure silk bedding has blissful temperature-regulating properties, helping you feel cool when you are hot and insulating you when you feel cold.

How do I wash silk bedding?

Silk bedding needs extra special care to keep it at its best. Wash your silk bedding set regularly - at least once a fortnight - and use a specialist silk detergent to do so. Regular detergents and harsh stain-removers are not suitable for mulberry silk bedsheets and will damage this precious fabric. A regular machine cycle is too aggressive for silk bed linen, so we'd recommend you either wash your silk bedsheets by hand or use the delicates cycle on your washing machine. When drying your pure silk bedding, dry away from direct sunlight and direct heat and do not use a tumble drier or heated airer to dry your silk bedset.

How long do silk bed sheets last?

Soak&Sleep silk bedsheets have a guarantee for two years, however with good care you can expect your mulberry silk sheets to last for considerably longer. There are a few things you can do to ensure your beautiful silk sheets last. First, only ever use a specialist silk detergent when laundering your mulberry silk bed sheets, and only every handwash them or use the delicates cycle on your washing machine. Second, never tumble dry your silk bedsheets and avoid using sources of direct heat such as a radiator or heated airer. It is also important to dry your silk bedding set out of direct sunlight. Finally, never iron your silk bed linen while it it damp as this will damage it.

Is silk or cotton better for bed sheets?

Both silk and cotton have their own advantages when it comes to choosing a bedsheet. The important thing is to choose a fabric that suits your needs. Cotton bed sheets are easy to care for, making them very practical for busy households. They also come in a wide variety of colours, designs and styles, giving you a choice with which to style your bedroom. And of course, there are many different types of cotton weaves and blends, at a range of prices. In contrast, silk bed sheets have a range of benefits rarely found with cotton. Silk sheets are excellent at helping you regulate your sleeping temperature and have a sensuously smooth handfeel
