Sleep more comfortably

Linen has superb temperature-regulating abilities making it a brilliant bed linen choice if you struggle with hot flushes or overheating at night. Its hollowfibre structure is stronger and more absorbent than cotton and helps to regulate your body temperature as you sleep. It will help you keep your cool during sultry summer nights and feel comforted and warm during colder months.

Pure French Linen

Made with pure French Linen, woven from flax grown in Normandy. The long staple lengths of this quality linen create an incredibly soft, textured fabric that just gets better with age.

A textural treat

This bed linen is made with yarns that are ring-spun to make the fabric stronger yet wonderfully soft. The result is a long-lasting and beautiful textured bed linen that you'll be able to enjoy for years to come. We've also pre-washed and pre-shrunk this bed linen to minimise the risk of shrinkage.

Care for quality

This bed linen has gone through some serious testing with a special focus on colour fastness, durability and washability.

Our linen bedding is popular for good reason

Woven with flax grown in Normandy, France, this luxury linen bedding boasts an unparalleled textured softness. With a tousled, just-got-out-of-bed look, our French Linen's charms don't stop there. It's a hard-worker too; its temperature-regulating properties help you sleep at the perfect temperature all night long so you wake full of joie de vivre the following day.

FAQS

French Linen Bedding and Sheets

Why is linen bedding really worth it?

Linen bedding offers a unique combination of both practicality and luxury:

  • Naturally breathable – Linen allows air to flow freely, helping regulate body temperature.
  • Moisture-wicking – Absorbs moisture without feeling damp, keeping you comfortable all night.
  • Durable & long-lasting – Linen fibres are stronger than cotton, meaning your bedding improves with age.
  • Softens over time – Each wash enhances the relaxed, lived-in feel.

What's the difference between linen bedding and cotton bedding?

French linen bedding feels very different to cotton bedding. The strands of linen are more robust and softer, and behave differently to cotton. Linen feels heavier than cotton and has a distinctive drape, meaning it feels denser and richer than many types of cotton. One of the biggest benefits of linen is the way it helps you regulate your temperature as you sleep. Because it can hold up to 20% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp, it helps wick away moisture, making it perfect for hot summer nights and people who overheat at night. Although luxury linen bedding is more expensive than some other types of bedding, it is very durable and gets softer with every wash.

Still unsure about whether you need linen or cotton bedding, read our blog about how to choose.

Are linen sheets cooler than cotton?

Linen sheets have a very different feel from cotton. They are softer and more drapey and help you regulate your sleeping temperature. This means that if you feel hot, linen bed linen will help you feel cooler, while if you feel cold, linen will help you to warm you up. This means that linen bedsheets are a perfect choice to use all year round. French linen bedding is a popular choice for people who struggle to regulate their body temperature, as it can help them to sleep more comfortably. You can learn more about the benefits of linen bedding sets in our blog.

How do I clean and dry linen bedding?

Linen bedding can be washed and dried in a very similar way to cotton bedding. Wash it in your washing machine, using the most appropriate detergent for your linen bed set. If your pure linen bedding is white, we'd recommend you use a powder detergent. If it is coloured, use a liquid detergent formulated for coloured fabrics. Never use fabric bleach with linen bedding sets as this can damage the fibres. It takes longer to dry linen bedding than cotton because of the way the linen holds onto more moisture. While you can tumble dry linen sheets, we'd recommend you dry it on a washing line in the fresh air for that unbeatable 'fresh bed' feeling.

Does linen wrinkle more than cotton?

One of the most charming thing about luxury linen bedding is the way it wrinkles, creating a laidback yet indulgent bedroom look. So yes, your linen bedsheets will wrinkle more than cotton. If prefer your bed to have crisp, pristine bedsheets, French Linen sheets aren't for you - take a look at our Egyptian Cotton range instead. You can iron French Linen bedding - it will look beautifully smooth and drapey, especially if you iron it while slightly damp. However, as soon as you sleep on it, the wrinkles will return. Our advice? Embrace the easy elegance of French linen sheets, and give your iron the day off.

Is linen bedding good for every seasons?

Yes. Linen’s temperature-regulating properties help keep you cool in summer and insulated in winter, making it suitable year-round.

Does linen bedding feel soft?

Linen has a naturally textured feel at first, but softens beautifully with washing and wear.

What sizes are available in linen bedding?

Our linen bedding collection includes standard UK sizes across fitted sheets, flat sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases.
