Our bedding expert says: "Our Superking mattress toppers measure 180cm x 200cm (5ft 10" x 6ft 6"). It's useful to know that it's technically the width of two single beds. If you have twin single beds that you sometimes push together, a Superking mattress topper would make it much more comfortable as it covers up the gap in the middle. (It will be about 10cm too long at the bottom though.)"

Handy tip: Have you noticed that when you make the bed there's a gap between the pillows? Superking pillows are an extra 15cm wide so that they meet in the middle, so your pillows might need an update too. Read our pillow buying guide to find your perfect fit.

Superking Mattress Toppers FAQs

What are the measurements of a super king mattress topper?

A super king mattress topper measures 180cm x 200cm / 71in x 79in and matches the size of a standard super king mattress. For more information about our mattress topper sizes, visit our size guide. Each super king topper varies in depth, according to its fill. Our slimmest super king size topper (the New Zealand wool topper) is 3cm deep, while our deepest super king size toppers (the Soft as Down with Silk topper and the Goose Down dual chamber topper) are 7cm deep. Depending on the depth of your mattress, you may need a deeper fitted sheet and protector to accommodate the combined depth of your mattress and super king topper.

What is the difference between a mattress topper and a mattress enhancer?

Mattress toppers and mattress enhancers are both designed to increase the comfort of your mattress but are slightly different. A mattress topper is deeper than a mattress enhancer and is typically designed to provide support as well as comfort. Our super king memory foam mattress topper is a great example of this. Mattress toppers are a great way of making an otherwise average mattress feel much more luxurious and supportive. In contrast, a mattress enhancer provides a layer of extra comfort without additional depth. You can expect a mattress enhancer to have a soft, quilted filling for extra softness or a soft and snuggly layer to add warmth. Mattress enhancers are different to mattress protectors, because of the way they focus on comfort rather than protection. We recommend you use a mattress protector on top of a mattress topper or mattress enhancer.

Do mattress toppers make a big difference?

Mattress toppers can make a big difference to the comfort and support of your bed, but are not a substitute for replacing a damaged or old mattress. They're most effective for adding comfort and support to a basic mattress that's in good condition. If you want to add extra softness and warmth to your mattress, you'll love our microfibre mattress toppers. The extra layer of microfibre makes your bed feel indulgently snug. If you want support, a super king memory foam mattress topper is a great investment. Alternatively, our feather and down mattress toppers add a layer of springy, breathable comfort to your mattress. For sleepyheads who want to keep temperature fluctuations at bay, our New Zealand Wool mattress toppers are the answer - by helping you regulate your body temperature, you can sleep more comfortably all year round.
