Natural wool

The wool yarn in these throws has been handled as gently as possible. It's washed with NPEO-free detergent and it's chlorine-free, meaning it is free from added chemicals.

Pure new wool

Klippan blankets are made with pure wool and are not combined with synthetic fibres - meaning their throws and blankets are naturally degradable and can be composted when you're finished with them.

Brush for ultimate softness

Your blanket can be brushed using a steel comb to keep it feeling fresh and airy. Hold the Velcro vertically and grip at both ends with your thumb and forefinger. Ensure you are brushing in the same direction as the fibres - it should feel easy to move, not heavy. Use long, even brush strokes and do not brush too hard.

Pull back the covers

Pull back your throw, together with your duvet or sheet, to air your bed while you're getting ready for the day. This helps excess moisture to evaporate so your bed stays fresher and cleaner.

Wash regularly

Keep things clean and fresh by washing your throw. Use it on top of a duvet or flat sheet and you should find that a wash once or twice a year is enough. You can machine-wash this throw on a cold wool-friendly cycle if your machine has this setting, otherwise, handwashing is advised. This throw is not suitable for dry cleaning.

Hang to dry

Do your bit for our planet and dry your throw by hanging it out. It will dry best on an outside washing line away from direct sunlight. You can gently reshape this throw when it's slightly damp. This throw is not suitable for tumble-drying.

Iron if you like

Use a cool iron to gently remove creases from your wool throw.

Check your detergent

Always use the best detergent for the product you are washing. We'd recommend you use a detergent designed specifically for woollens.

Extra careful

Never use biological detergent, bleaches, stain removers or optical brighteners as they will damage the wool. It's not just detergents that can affect your throw; some creams, sun creams and facewashes contain chemicals that will bleach your bedding, such as benzoyl peroxide. Make up and bronzers can also stain your throw; having a shower before bed to remove skin products will help your throw stay looking good for longer.
