OK, so we don't know for sure that the ancient Egyptians bathed with cotton towels like these, but one thing's for sure; they'd probably have liked to. Indulge yourself after every bath, shower and handwash with these plush and luxurious Egyptian cotton towels. Soft, rich, weighty towels which stay incredible wash after wash.
Features and Facts
Made with 100% certified Egyptian cotton accredited by the Egyptian Cotton Association. Egyptian cotton is grown exclusively in Egypt on the banks of the river Nile. The warm climate and rich soil are perfect for growing the high quality, long staple length cotton fibres we all love in our cotton towels. Egyptian Cotton is especially soft, absorbent and durable - all the qualities we look for in a towel!
Would you believe that Egyptian Cotton cultivation began in an ornamental garden? It's true! A chap called Jumel spotted the beautiful cotton plants in a Cairo garden, and after looking at it a little more closely, realised that thanks to its long fibres it could be woven into a strong and fine cloth. Before long he began cultivating it along the banks of the Nile. Egypt (and our bedtimes) have never looked back.
These towels are made from a terry woven to 700GSM for a towel that feels super fluffy and substantial - what a treat! We've used a long twisted loop pile that makes these towels incredibly absorbent and durable.
We've put these towels through their paces to make sure you're getting the very best quality. All our towels are tested for longevity with particular focus on washability, colourfastness and durability.

Hang it Up
The label on this towel acts as a handy hook so you can hang it up out of the way where it can dry ready for when you next need it.
It comes down to personal preference how frequently you wash your towels. We recommend every 5-7 days if you use for a daily bath or shower. If you're using it as a hand towel in a busy household then wash it after one or two days' use. Wash at 30°C for best results - modern detergents mean there's no need to go for a higher temperature. It's also kinder to the environment.
You can line dry or tumble dry this towel. If you choose to tumble dry then remove it from the dryer before it's completely dry to avoid a dried-out crispy feel. Line drying your towel is a greener option, just give it a good shake out before you put it away to fluff up those lovely cotton fibres.
Always use the best detergent for the product you are washing. Use powdered detergent for white towels and bathmats and liquid detergent for coloured towels and bathmats. Never use fabric conditioner when washing towels. It coats the fibres and makes them less absorbent and more scratchy over time.
They can create an optical illusion that changes the appearance of the colour that looks like a bleached mark. It's not just detergents that can affect your towels; some creams, suncream (especially day long formulas), facewashes and even toothpastes contain chemicals that will bleach your towels, such as benzoyl peroxide. Make up and bronzers can also stain your towels; we'd recommend you avoid using pale coloured towels if you're a fake-tan fan.
