Alpaca Delights
It's the alpaca wool in this blanket that makes it feel so indecently soft. Similarly to wool, alpaca wool is hypoallergenic and has temperature regulating properties. We've blended the alpaca wool in this throw with wool and acrylic to create a more durable and hardwearing throw, perfect for everyday use. -
True Story!
Alpaca fibre was popularised in Britain by Titus Salt, the Victorian captain of industry and worker's rights hero. He came across some unwanted bales of alpaca fibre at Liverpool docks, took it upon himself to perfect the production of alpaca-based fabric, later presenting an alpaca wool coat to Prince Albert. Salt's PR campaign paid off and alpaca became the must-have fibre of the Victorian era, often being bequeathed in wills as a result of its luxurious and hard-wearing properties. -

Woven for us in Wales by Tweedmill, a manufacturer renowned for their fine textiles. This is a British classic made for every type of British weather. -

1Pull back the coversKeep things healthy by pulling back your bedspread, together with your duvet or sheet, to air your bed whilst you're getting ready for the day. This helps excess moisture to evaporate so your bed stays fresher and cleaner.

2Wash regularlyKeep things clean and fresh by washing your bedspread when needed, especially if you use it during the summer with a flat sheet. Generally, you should find that a wash every couple of months is enough. This bedspread should be hand-washed or professionally dry-cleaned.

3Hang to dryDo your bit for our planet and air dry your throw. Absorb the excess moisture by rolling it in a large towel. Dry flat away from direct sunlight. You can gently reshape this throw when it's slightly damp. This throw is not suitable for tumble-drying.

4To iron or not to iron?You can keep this throw looking at it's smartest by using a cool iron.

5Check your detergentAlways use the best detergent for the product you are washing. Use a specialist handwash detergent designed for woollens.

6Extra carefulNever use biological detergent, bleaches, stain removers or optical brighteners as they will damage the fabric and colour over time. It's not just detergents that can affect the fabric on your throw; some creams, suncreams and facewashes contain chemicals that will bleach your bedspread, such as benzoyl peroxide. Make up and bronzers can also stain your bedspread; having a shower before bed to remove skin products will help your bedspread stay looking good for longer.
