The king size duvet is our top-seller. We think we know why. Whether you have a king size or a double bed, a king size has plenty of duvet for two! That's the secret to banishing duvet-hogging for a happy, peaceful night...
A lavish king size bed was invented in America in the 1950s, and Europe soon adopted it. By 2010, sales of king size beds had overtaken doubles! And, if you don't have space for a king bed, we think a king size duvet is perfect for a double bed too. That's why we offer king size duvets across all our ranges: there's loads of variety to choose from.
Our expert says: "Our king size duvets are the standard UK sizes. They measure 230cm x 220cm (7ft 7" x 7ft 3"). They are made to fit a mattress
that measures 150cm x 200cm (5ft 0" x 6ft 6"). If you have a king size mattress and want extra wriggle room from your duvet, size up and go for a Superking
"You have a lot of choice here, which can be overwhelming. Start by deciding whether you want a feather and down duvet (that's our favourite category), a synthetic duvet, or a natural alternative. In the feather and down category, generally the more you pay, the lighter and puffier the duvet. Supreme Canadian is amazingly light, while still retaining your body heat, while Duck Feather and Down is heavier and firmer. Our synthetic favourite is Microfibre, a fine grade of fibre that acts like down. Over in the natural corner are wool and silk - they're both quite slender duvets that do a great job of regulating your body temperature."
