What size throw do I need for a sofa?

If you’re choosing a new throw for a sofa, you’ll want to be sure how large your sofa is. Most of our throws are around 150 cm x 183 cm. This makes them perfect for adding a colourful, cosy accent to your sofa, perfect for using as lap blankets if you want some extra warmth. These throws are ideal for covering the seat cushions of smaller two-seater sofas, giving your room a seasonal upgrade. They’re also perfect for draping over the back of a sofa for a complementary splash of colour. If you want a throw for a larger sofa, such as a three-seater or a corner sofa, you’ll need an extra large throw. Alternatively, you could use two or three regular throws.

How do I choose the right size throw for my bed?

Choosing the right size throw for your bed is simple – all our throws are a similar size. Our bed throws are designed as cosy bedroom accessories and add colour, style and warmth to your bed. They aren’t designed around the dimensions of different beds and this makes them incredibly adaptable. You can use our range of bed throws on single beds or king size beds – they look fantastic on beds of all sizes. What's the difference between a throw, blanket and bedspread?

Throws, blankets and bedspreads do similar things but are slightly different to each other. A throw is an adaptable accessory you can add to your bed or sofa. It’s the smallest of the three and can be used to add a cosy extra layer to your bed. A blanket is designed to be used as bedding, layered up with a flat sheet and several other blankets. They’re big enough to cover an entire bed and are most commonly made from wool or acrylic. Lastly, a bedspread is a decorative extra layer designed to fully cover a bed. They’re most often used to enhance a bedroom and complement a decorative scheme, but they also have a practical purpose. Bedspreads can be used to sleep under – they’re a welcome extra layer of warmth during the winter, and can be paired with a flatsheet to provide a lightweight covering during warmer nights.
