Bathrobes FAQs

How do I choose the right size bathrobe?

When selecting a bathrobe, refer to the brand’s specific size chart, as sizing can vary. Measure your chest, waist, and hips, and compare these measurements to the size guide provided to ensure a comfortable fit, and size up if you’d prefer your robe to be oversized and cosy.

What’s the difference between a bathrobe and a dressing gown?

While both are types of robes, a bathrobe is typically made from absorbent materials like cotton or terry cloth and is designed for use after a bath or shower to help you dry off. A dressing gown is usually made from lighter, less absorbent fabrics like satin or linen and is intended for lounging or as a cover-up over sleepwear.

How often should I wash my bathrobe?

We recommend washing your bathrobe every 3–5 wears to maintain hygiene and fabric integrity. However, if you don’t wear your robe every day, you may not need to wash it so frequently. If this is the case, once a week should do the trick.

Is it okay to use fabric softener when washing my bathrobe?

It’s best to avoid using fabric softeners when washing your bathrobe, as they can coat the fibres and reduce the absorbency of the robe. Instead, use a mild detergent to help keep it soft and functional.

What is a bathrobe used for?

Dressing gowns and bathrobes suit so many situations. From a leisurely weekend breakfast to throwing on at the end of a long day while you cosy up with a good book, a dressing gown feels snug yet perfectly presentable at the same time. A good dressing gown or bathrobe is especially important for parents (of children and pets!). Those early morning or middle of the night wake-ups can feel chilly – pop on your bathrobe and feel warmer while you deal with your little darlings.
