Silk bedding has long been associated with luxury, but there are more benefits to sleeping on silk than simply treating yourself to an indulgent night's sleep. Mulberry silk is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial which makes it an excellent choice for allergy sufferers because of the way it repels allergens such as dustmites and mould. unlike other fibres, silk bed sheets help skin and hair retain its natural moisture as you sleep. What's more, because it is so smooth, your hair and skin 'slips' across the surface of your silk sheets, helping minimise tangles and morning sleep wrinkles. Finally, pure silk bedding has blissful temperature-regulating properties, helping you feel cool when you are hot and insulating you when you feel cold.
Silk bedding needs extra special care to keep it at its best. Wash your silk bedding set regularly - at least once a fortnight - and use a specialist silk detergent to do so. Regular detergents and harsh stain-removers are not suitable for mulberry silk bedsheets and will damage this precious fabric. A regular machine cycle is too aggressive for silk bed linen, so we'd recommend you either wash your silk bedsheets by hand or use the delicates cycle on your washing machine. When drying your pure silk bedding, dry away from direct sunlight and direct heat and do not use a tumble drier or heated airer to dry your silk bedset.
